En 2014, Johannes Hopfner rejoint Sophiane Productions et enregistre Twist in the Shadow, produit par Denis Clavaizolle (Alain Bashung, Daniel Darc, Jean‑Louis Murat, Cocoon…) et distribué par InOuïe Distribution. Cet album marque une étape importante dans son parcours, ouvrant son répertoire à des arrangements plus riches et une production plus ample, sans rompre avec la spontanéité et l’énergie qui traversent l’ensemble de son travail. Entre ombres électriques, fables contemporaines et éclats de vulnérabilité, Twist in the Shadow explore les zones troubles de l’âme humaine, ses vertiges, ses fractures et ses élans de lumière.
